# How do I change my plan or billing period?

## Short answer

Open **Billing**, select **Upgrade plan**, choose **Monthly** or **Yearly**, and select the plan you want. Mindstamp shows the amount due today before you confirm. The change starts at once and is prorated.

## Steps

1. Open the account menu at the bottom of the side menu and select **Billing**.
2. Select **Upgrade plan**.
3. Set the switch at the top to **Monthly** or **Yearly**.
4. On the plan you want, select **Upgrade to**, **Change to**, or **Switch to annual** (or **Switch to monthly**).
5. Review the amount due today and the new plan details.
6. Confirm the change. The Billing page shows the new plan and next invoice.

## How proration works

You pay only the difference. Unused time on your current plan counts toward the new one, and the review step shows the exact amount before you confirm. The final amount, including any tax, is confirmed at payment.

## Downgrades

You can move to a smaller plan when your account fits its limits. If it does not, the plan card says what blocks it. Select **Review** to see the list.

- Too many videos: delete videos.
- Too many admin seats: remove team members or pending invites.
- Too many certificate designs: delete certificate designs.

## When new limits apply

New limits start as soon as the change is confirmed. Features that are not on the new plan stop working in your videos at that time, so check any video that uses them.

## When you cannot change the plan yourself

- The subscription is paused. Resume it first.
- You are on Enterprise or another custom plan. Contact support.
- A cancellation is scheduled. Select **Keep my subscription** first.
