# How do I capture a viewer’s name, email, or phone number?

## Short answer

Use lead capture. Open the video’s **Lead Capture** tab, turn it on, choose the fields, and choose when the form appears. After the viewer submits, every later click and answer is reported under that person. Lead capture is on every plan.

## Steps

1. Open the video and click the **Lead Capture** tab.
2. Turn on the switch at the top of the page.
3. Under **Timing & prompt**, choose **At start**, **First interaction**, **At time**, or **On interaction**, and enter a **Prompt**.
4. Under **Fields**, choose **Name**, **Email**, **Phone**, and **Custom ID**. Tick **Required** for fields the viewer must fill in. Click **+ Custom field** to add a text, number, date, checkbox, or dropdown field.
5. Under **Behavior**, choose whether to **Allow skipping** and whether to **Remember viewers**.
6. Under **Alerts**, turn on **Email me each new lead** or **Email me on completion**, and add other addresses if needed.
7. Click **Preview** and submit the form once to check it.

## Choose when to ask

- **At start**: before the video plays. Use it for training, where every viewer must be identified.
- **At time**: at a timecode you set. Use it in marketing, after the video has shown its value.
- **First interaction**: the first time the viewer clicks a button, hotspot, text, or image.
- **On interaction**: when the viewer clicks the one interaction you select.

## Ask on a specific click

To ask when a viewer clicks something like “Get the guide”, open that interaction’s **Settings** and turn on **Capture Lead**. The form appears when the viewer clicks it.

## Skip the form for known viewers

If the link already has a value for every selected field, for example ?name=Ana&email=ana@example.com, the form does not appear. When **Remember viewers** is on, a viewer who already submitted is not asked again.

## Where leads go

- **Reporting** > **Viewers** lists each identified viewer with their views and answers.
- The captured values are variables, so {{name}} and {{email}} can personalize later text.
- Integrations can send leads to other tools, for example Zapier (Core and higher) and HubSpot (Pro and higher).

## Alerts

Instant lead alerts are on Core and higher plans. **Email me on completion** sends an email when a view meets the **Minimum completion** and **Minimum score** you set.
