# How does Mindstamp integrate with Salesforce?

## Short answer

Salesforce is a quoted add-on, not a switch in the app. Contact Mindstamp with the Salesforce records and fields you need, and we confirm the setup and the price. You can also send Mindstamp data to Salesforce today through Zapier or your own webhook receiver.

## Steps

1. Decide which Salesforce object each video event should update, such as a lead, a contact or a custom object.
2. Choose the match key, usually email or a custom ID that you pass into the video.
3. List the Mindstamp fields you need, such as watched percentage, scores and specific answers.
4. Send the list to Mindstamp through [contact](https://mindstamp.com/contact) or a [demo](https://mindstamp.com/request-demo) and ask for a quote.
5. Test known, unknown, duplicate and anonymous viewers in a Salesforce sandbox before you use live records.

## Routes that work today

- **Zapier**, on Core and higher plans: use a Mindstamp trigger and a Salesforce action to find or update the record.
- **Webhooks**: view webhooks are on Core and higher plans and interaction webhooks on Pro and higher plans. Your middleware receives the JSON and writes to Salesforce.
- **REST API**, on Pro and higher plans: pull views and viewers on a schedule.

## Identity matching is the key decision

A video event is useful only when it reaches the right person. Anonymous viewers have no email, so capture an email with lead capture or pass a custom ID in a personalized link. Decide what happens when no record matches, when two records match, and when an email changes.

## Send less, not more

Map the answers and behaviors that change a sales or service action. Extra fields add privacy risk and make the Salesforce record harder to read.
