# How do I add a Mindstamp video to Absorb LMS?

Topic: [Training, LMS and certificates](https://mindstamp.com/help/training) · Updated: 2026-10-05

## Short answer

Publish the Mindstamp video and copy the address from its **Basic iframe** code. In the Absorb course syllabus, select **Add Learning Object**, then **Object**, set **Source** to **URL**, paste the address, and choose **Launch in a modal (iFrame)**.

## Steps

1. In Mindstamp, publish the video from its **Share** page if it is not published yet.
2. Under **Embed**, choose **Basic iframe** and select **Copy embed code**. Copy only the address inside src. It starts with https.
3. In the Absorb course syllabus, select **Add Learning Object**, then **Object**.
4. Set **Source** to **URL** and paste the address.
5. For desktop and mobile, choose **Launch in a modal (iFrame)**, then save.
6. Preview the course as a learner in a browser and in the Absorb Learning app.

## Use the embed address, not a page address

Absorb blocks standard video page addresses inside its iframe, in desktop Safari, and in the Absorb Learning app. The address inside src in the Mindstamp code is an embed address.

## An Object counts as complete when opened

Absorb marks an Object learning object complete when the learner opens it. It does not record a score.

## Test the SCORM package first

Absorb lists SCORM 1.2 and 2004 with a single SCO. It also says external content URLs inside SCORM packages are not officially supported. The Mindstamp package loads the hosted video, so it may not launch or track in Absorb.

- Download a **SCORM 1.2** package from the Mindstamp **Share** page, with a **Completion Checkpoint** of 10, 25, 50, 75, 90, 95 or 100 percent. This needs a Core plan or higher.
- Upload it as a SCORM learning object and turn on **Lesson contains assessment**.
- Run it as a test learner. If it does not track, use the Object learning object.

## If your account restricts embed domains

If you set **Allowed embed domains** in Mindstamp, add your Absorb portal domain to the list. Otherwise learners see “Video not available: Code 617”. See [restrict embed domains](https://mindstamp.com/help/restrict-embed-domains).

## Know which learner watched

The embed does not receive the learner’s Absorb account. To see names in Mindstamp reports, add lead capture to the video so learners enter their name and email. See [viewer identity and anonymous viewers](https://mindstamp.com/help/viewer-identity-and-anonymous-viewers).
