# How do I embed a Mindstamp video in LearnDash?

Topic: [Training, LMS and certificates](https://mindstamp.com/help/training) · Updated: 2026-10-05

## Short answer

Publish the Mindstamp video and copy its **Responsive** embed code. In WordPress, edit the LearnDash lesson or topic, add a **Custom HTML** block, paste the code, and select **Update**. The user who saves the block needs the WordPress unfiltered_html capability.

## Steps

1. In Mindstamp, publish the video from its **Share** page if it is not published yet.
2. Under **Embed**, choose **Responsive** and select **Copy embed code**.
3. In WordPress, open the LearnDash lesson or topic in the block editor.
4. Add a **Custom HTML** block where the video should show.
5. Paste the code and select **Update**.
6. View the lesson as a test student on a computer and on a phone.

## Only some WordPress roles can save iframes

- On a single site, Administrators and Editors have the unfiltered_html capability.
- On WordPress Multisite, only Super Admins have it.
- On WordPress.com, iframe and script tags need a paid plan with hosting features.
- For other roles, some security plugins, and sites with DISALLOW_UNFILTERED_HTML, WordPress removes the iframe when the lesson saves.

## Video Progression does not complete the lesson

The LearnDash **Video Progression** field accepts iframe code, so the player can show there. LearnDash runs auto-complete and the hidden Mark Complete button only for hosts it lists, such as Vimeo, YouTube, and Wistia. Expect learners to select **Mark Complete** after a Mindstamp video.

## Send completion and a score with a SCORM add-on

LearnDash core does not import SCORM. LearnDash documents SCORM 1.2 and 2004 through paid add-ons such as Tin Canny by Uncanny Owl and GrassBlade xAPI Companion. Download a Mindstamp package from the **Share** page on a Core plan or higher, then upload it with the add-on. See [SCORM export](https://mindstamp.com/help/scorm-export).

## If your account restricts embed domains

If you set **Allowed embed domains** in Mindstamp, add your WordPress site domain to the list. Otherwise learners see “Video not available: Code 617”. See [restrict embed domains](https://mindstamp.com/help/restrict-embed-domains).

## Know which learner watched

The embed does not receive the learner’s WordPress account. To see names in Mindstamp reports, add lead capture to the video so learners enter their name and email. A SCORM add-on can pass the learner name and ID instead. See [viewer identity and anonymous viewers](https://mindstamp.com/help/viewer-identity-and-anonymous-viewers).
