Interactive video in LearnWorlds

Upload a Mindstamp SCORM package as a Graded SCORM activity, and LearnWorlds puts the score in its gradebook on the Pro Trainer plan or higher. Use an Embed activity on any plan when you only need the player in the course, and read each learner’s answers in Mindstamp.

Three ways to add it

Add an Embed activity

In Mindstamp, publish the video from its Share page.
Under Embed, choose Responsive and select Copy embed code.
In the LearnWorlds course outline, select Add activity, then Embed, and enter a title.
Open the activity Settings, paste the code in the embed code field, and select Save.
Preview the activity as a learner on a computer and on a phone.

SCORM, Pro Trainer and higher

Add a Graded SCORM activity

Use Graded SCORM when the score must reach the gradebook.

On the Mindstamp Share page, under Export, select Download SCORM package. This needs a Core plan or higher.
In SCORM Version, choose any version. LearnWorlds lists SCORM 1.2, 2004 3rd edition, and 2004 4th edition.
In Completion Checkpoint, choose 10, 25, 50, 75, 90, 95 or 100 percent. The 80 and 85 percent options do not record completion.
In LearnWorlds, select Add activity, then Graded SCORM under Exams. Turn on Collect Score from SCORM and upload the ZIP file.
Set a custom passing score in LearnWorlds. A Mindstamp SCORM 2004 package reports “passed” at the checkpoint, whatever the score.
Run the course as a test learner and check the gradebook.

Known issues

Check these before you publish

Gradebook shows no score: Scores reach the gradebook only from a Graded SCORM activity with Collect Score from SCORM turned on.
Progress resets after an update: Replacing a SCORM file in LearnWorlds can reset learner progress or the gradebook. Edit the video in Mindstamp instead. The package loads the hosted video, so it needs no new file.
Mobile app not documented: LearnWorlds does not say how Embed and SCORM activities show in its mobile apps. Check them before launch.
Video not available: Code 617: Your Mindstamp account limits embed domains. Add your LearnWorlds school domain to Allowed embed domains.

Can I send a Mindstamp quiz score to the LearnWorlds gradebook?

Yes, with a Graded SCORM activity on the Pro Trainer plan or higher. Turn on Collect Score from SCORM and upload the Mindstamp package. The score is the percent of questions answered correctly, and only the first answer to each question counts.

LearnWorlds has interactive video. Why add Mindstamp?

Use the LearnWorlds editor if your video and learners stay in LearnWorlds. Consider Mindstamp when you need branching paths, or when the same video must also work in another LMS or on your website.

Which SCORM version should I use for LearnWorlds?

Any of them. LearnWorlds lists SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 3rd edition, and SCORM 2004 4th edition. SCORM needs the Pro Trainer plan or higher in LearnWorlds and a Core plan or higher in Mindstamp. See SCORM export.

Can I use an Embed activity on any plan?

Yes. LearnWorlds documents the Embed activity on all plans, including the trial. It does not say whether an Embed activity counts as complete when a learner opens it.
