How do I make JW Player videos interactive?
Open the public preview page of the video, copy its address, and paste it into the JWPlayer source on the Mindstamp New video page. Create the video when Mindstamp shows Link works, then add questions, buttons, or branching in the editor. Mindstamp streams the MP4 from the JW CDN in its own player and records each answer.
Which JW Player and Mindstamp plans work?
Every Mindstamp plan accepts JW Player links. On Basic, each video can run 30 minutes. SCORM packages need a Core plan or higher. On the JW side, Mindstamp needs no API key, only a public preview page, and JW editions have no public prices.
Does JW Player still record the plays?
Likely not. Mindstamp does not load the JW player. JW does not document player analytics for other players, and its server-side streaming analytics cover HLS and DASH from JW hosting, not progressive MP4. Each view, answer, and click for the interactive video is in Mindstamp reports.
JW Player has a player API. Why use Mindstamp?
JW Player gives you chapter markers, cue points, and custom control-bar buttons, and a developer builds any overlay with the player API. Its docs list no quizzes, branching, or answer reports. Mindstamp gives you an editor for questions, buttons, hotspots, and branching, and a report of each viewer’s answers, and you write no code.
Can I use a JW Player playlist?
Not as one video. Mindstamp reads one video tag from the page, and a playlist likely has none, so the link fails. Create one Mindstamp video for each JW video, each from its own preview page.
Is JW Player now called JWX?
The JW Player docs now use the name JWX, and jwplayer.com/pricing opens a JWP Connatix page on jwx.com. The Delivery API still uses cdn.jwplayer.com. In Mindstamp the source is still labeled JWPlayer, and it accepts links that contain jwplayer.com.
