How do I connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI agent to Mindstamp?

Updated · 2 min read

Short answer

First, the account owner turns on AI features in Mindstamp. Then add https://app.mindstamp.com/mcp as a remote MCP server in your AI client, choose OAuth, and sign in to Mindstamp to approve access. Reads work on paid plans. Changes need a plan with API access: Pro, Scale, Ultra or Enterprise.

  1. As the organization owner, open app.mindstamp.com/ai-settings and select Turn on AI features. Mindstamp sends a confirmation email.
  2. In your AI client, add a custom connector or remote MCP server. Use the address https://app.mindstamp.com/mcp and choose OAuth.
  3. Sign in to Mindstamp when the client asks, and approve the access on the consent screen.
  4. Ask the agent: "List my Mindstamp videos." It returns your video titles.
  5. Check Connected agents and API tokens on the AI settings page. Your client is listed there.

For Claude Code, run the first command, then open /mcp in Claude Code and complete the sign-in. For Codex, run the second and third commands, then start a new session.

claude mcp add --transport http mindstamp https://app.mindstamp.com/mcp

codex mcp add mindstamp --url https://app.mindstamp.com/mcp
codex mcp login mindstamp

Use an API token instead of OAuth

If your client cannot run OAuth, send a Mindstamp API token as a bearer token: Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_TOKEN. An API token has full access, like the REST API, so OAuth is the safer choice when your client supports it. See get an API token.

  • Read: list and read videos, transcripts, interactions, views, question results and reports.
  • Build: add questions, buttons, hotspots and text, set chapters, lead capture and end screens, and change video settings and design.
  • Share: get share links and create personalized links.
  • Not yet: playlists and folders, certificates, integration setup, dubbing, account administration and billing.
  • ai_not_enabled: the owner has not turned on AI features.
  • plan_required: the account plan does not include write access. Reads still work.
  • missing_scope: sign in again and approve the scope the task needs.
  • unknown_tool: reconnect or restart the client to load the current tool list.
  • rate_limited: more than 30 actions in one minute. Wait, then try again.
  • Some clients need a paid client plan or an admin setting before you can add a custom connector. Check your client's settings.
