Interactions and logic
Buttons, hotspots, questions, click actions, branching, variables, and lead capture.
- How do I add a clickable button to my video?Add a clickable button to a Mindstamp video, set when it shows, choose what a click does, and test the result before you share the video.
- How do I add a clickable hotspot to my video?Place a clickable hotspot over part of your video in Mindstamp, time it to the object, make it follow motion, and choose what a click does.
- Can I change the color and look of a hotspot?New Mindstamp hotspots take the accent color from your video design. Change one hotspot’s color, ring, shape, icon and effect under Styling.
- How do I add a clickable image to my video?Place an image over your Mindstamp video, set its timing and caption, and attach a click action so it opens a link, jumps, or shows more.
- How do I add questions to an interactive video?Add a question to a Mindstamp video, choose from 13 question types, set correct answers and actions, and see every viewer response in reports.
- What click actions are available in Mindstamp?Every click action you can give a Mindstamp button, hotspot, image or text: open links, jump, branch, show messages, download files, and more.
- How can I add a YouTube subscribe button to my video?Add a subscribe button inside your Mindstamp video that opens your YouTube channel, then see who clicks it. The same steps work for newsletters.
- How do I add a call to action at the start of a video?Put a button, choice or lead form at the start of a Mindstamp video, decide whether the video waits, and keep the opening easy to watch.
- How do I add a call to action at the end of a video?Use the Mindstamp End Screen to show a button, send viewers to a link or the next video, or keep your own buttons on the last frame.
- How do I pause the video on the last frame?Stop a Mindstamp video on its final frame and keep your end buttons visible and clickable with the None: Pause on Last Frame option.
- How do I pause a video automatically?Pause a Mindstamp video at a set time with a Pause navigation, or pause on a button or hotspot until the viewer clicks or for 5 to 60 seconds.
- How do I require a click before the video continues?Make viewers click a button or hotspot before a Mindstamp video moves on, and learn how Require Click differs from pausing until a click.
- What do the post-click states Hidden and Disabled do?Choose what a Mindstamp button, hotspot, text or image does after a viewer clicks it: stay the same, hide, become disabled, or change colors.
- Can I add several buttons at the same time?Show several Mindstamp buttons on screen at once to build a menu or choice, copy a button in one click, and edit their timing and style together.
- How do I keep a button visible for the whole video?Make a Mindstamp button show from the first to the last second of a video with the Start and End time controls, and keep it out of the way.
- What is a navigation and how do I use it?Navigations run an action at a set time with no click: pause, jump, switch video, redirect, set a variable, open the Magic Menu, or reset data.
- What does Change Time do?Change Time moves playback to another point in the same Mindstamp video. Use it on a click, a question answer, the end screen, or on a timer.
- How do I make part of a video loop?Loop a section of a Mindstamp video with a Change Time navigation, replay the whole video from the End Screen, and give viewers a way out.
- How do I use video branching?Branch viewers to another video with Switch Video or to another point in the same video with Change Time. Set up, test, and report on each path.
- Why won’t my Switch Video action change the video?A Switch Video branch fails when the destination is unpublished, deleted, or blocked for the viewer. Check the destination, publish it, and test in Preview.
- How do I show or hide an interaction with conditional logic?Conditional logic shows or hides an interaction based on a variable, such as an earlier answer. Set it in Variables & Logic. Available on Pro and higher.
- How do I add a “Try again” button with conditional logic?Send a viewer who answers wrong back to the explanation, and let a correct answer continue. Use Repeat Until Correct, an answer action, or a variable.
- How do I personalize a video with variables?Store a viewer’s name, answer, or link value in a variable and show it with {{name}} in text, buttons, and questions. On Core and higher plans.
- What are common uses for personalization and variables?Seven practical uses for Mindstamp variables: greetings, role-based offers, routing, memory across videos, CRM links, score messages, and page handoffs.
- How do I create personalized video navigation?Store a viewer fact in a variable, then use conditional logic so each viewer gets only the Change Time or Switch Video route that fits them.
- How do I personalize video text with viewer information?Collect a viewer’s name or other details with lead capture, then show them in later text with {{name}}. The player fills the value in after the viewer submits.
- Do variables carry over when a viewer switches videos?Yes. Variables set in one video carry over when a viewer uses Switch Video, so the next video can show them and use them in conditional logic.
- Why aren’t my personalization variables being replaced? If you see {{name}} on screen, fix the placeholder. If you see a blank, the value is not set yet. Test in Preview, check the link, and check encoding.
- Which plan includes variables and personalization?Personalization variables start on Core and conditional logic on Pro. Lead capture and video branching are on every Mindstamp plan.
- How do I personalize video links from my CRM or website?Send each contact a video that knows their name. Add CRM merge fields to the share link, or create personalized links one at a time or from a CSV.
- How do I build a chapter menu that lets viewers review completed sections?Build a menu with one button per section, return viewers to it after each section, mark completed sections, and let viewers review any of them.
- How do I capture a viewer’s name, email, or phone number?Use the Lead Capture tab to ask for name, email, phone, custom ID, or custom fields at the start, at a time, or on a click. Available on every plan.
- Why isn’t my lead capture form showing?Lead capture does not show in the editor, for viewers it already knows, or when the link fills every field. Check these causes and test in Preview.
- How do I embed a booking calendar in my video?Add a button with the Open Link Modal action and paste your booking page link. The video pauses and the calendar opens on top of the player.
- Can viewers record video or voice answers?Yes. Add a Video Response or Voice Response question. Viewers record up to 120 seconds in the browser, and you play the answers back in your reports.
- What is Genie AI?Genie AI answers viewer questions inside the player, using only the video transcript and the notes you add. On Core and higher plans.
