What happens if I exceed my streaming limit?

Updated · 1 min read

Short answer

Playback continues. Mindstamp plans measure streaming minutes, the total time your audience watches each month, not a view or report limit. If your account nears or passes its allowance, a member of the team contacts you to talk about capacity.

  1. Open Organization in the side menu and select Quotas and Limits.
  2. Read the Minutes meter. It shows the minutes used since the start of the current month.
  3. Before a large launch, estimate expected viewers multiplied by minutes watched per viewer.
  4. If the estimate is near your allowance, contact the team before the launch or upgrade your plan.

Enterprise allowances are set in the contract. The trial includes 1,000 minutes.

  • Basic: 10,000 minutes a month.
  • Core: 50,000 minutes a month.
  • Pro: 100,000 minutes a month.
  • Scale: 250,000 minutes a month.
  • Ultra: 500,000 minutes a month.

Minutes are the total time your whole audience spends watching in a calendar month, measured to the second. A 90-second view uses 1.5 minutes. A viewer who stops after 30 seconds uses only 30 seconds. The count starts again each month.

For example, on Basic, a 2-minute video can be watched in full 5,000 times in one month.

Each plan includes unlimited viewers with no per-viewer billing. Minutes, not viewers, measure usage. A short view and a long training session use different amounts.

Mindstamp does not stop playback when you pass your allowance. The team reaches out to discuss more capacity. Your options are a larger plan or extra minutes quoted for your account.
