Mindstamp

Move through the video

Video navigation controls.

Pause, skip, rewind, or jump to another video automatically, so the recording adapts instead of just playing.

Works on the video you already have. No re-encoding.

What it does

Playback as something you control

The play head is the most under-used control in video — most tools leave it entirely to the viewer.

Automatic movement

Pause on a question, skip a section, or jump to a different video when a condition is met.

Variables track progress

Mark what a viewer has seen and use it to decide what they see next time.

Viewer-led where it helps

Give viewers their own controls to move around when exploration is the point.

In practice

Where navigation control matters

Long content, repeat viewers, and anything with prerequisites.

  • Skipping the introduction for returning learners
  • Enforcing order in a module with prerequisites
  • Jumping to a different video when an answer calls for it

What gets measured

Every use of it is reported

Reported per viewer
Every use of this interaction is recorded against the person, not the play.
Placed to the second
Attached to the timecode it sits on, so results map to the moment that produced them.
On video you already have
Layered on the existing file — the original is never re-encoded or replaced.

Questions

What teams ask about navigation

Can I stop viewers skipping ahead?

Yes. Seeking can be disabled so a module cannot be completed by dragging the scrubber.

Can navigation depend on earlier answers?

Yes — combine it with conditional logic and variables.

Try it on one video

Take control of the playhead

Make one video skip what a returning viewer already watched.
