Build a corporate training video with Mindstamp
Combine questions, branching, and viewer-level reports around the outcome your team needs to prove.
The best interactive video software for corporate training depends on where learners watch, what they must do, and which records your team needs. Start with Mindstamp if you want to add questions and branching to existing video. Compare H5P for varied learning activities in an LMS, Panopto for a video library with assessments, and LearnWorlds for a complete course academy.
This guide is published by Mindstamp. We reviewed the official documentation linked below on September 21, 2026. This is a document-based comparison, not a hands-on benchmark or a measured ranking of learning outcomes. Plan access and integration setup can change the result for your team.
For a Mindstamp evaluation, open interactive video for training, inspect the learner reporting options, and compare current plans. Use the same training task when you evaluate another tool.
Compare the training task before the feature list
A question inside a video, a scored LMS activity, and a branching scenario solve different problems. The table names a documented use and a check to make before buying. It does not assign scores such as “strong” or “moderate” without a common test.
| Platform | Use to evaluate | Check before buying |
|---|---|---|
| Mindstamp | Questions, feedback, and choices in existing training video | Required plan, learner identity, and the reports your LMS receives |
| H5P | Video questions and other interactive learning activities | Hosted or self-hosted setup; LTI requirements for H5P.com reports |
| PlayPosit by WeVideo | Interactive lessons and branched learning | Current product version and LMS integration access |
| Panopto | Video assessments with LMS gradebook reporting | Assessment data, learner access, and required library controls |
| Kaltura | Choice-based paths between video nodes | Interactive Video Paths access and the data sent to your systems |
| LearnWorlds | Interactive video within a course academy | Learning Center access for the full video editor |
| Edpuzzle | Assigned video lessons with questions | Fit for employee accounts, assignments, and reporting |
| Vimeo | Hotspots, overlays, and timed video actions | Enterprise access to Interactive studio |
| KappaX | Requires current product verification | Obtain current documentation and a demonstration |
| Dot.vu | Branching or shoppable video within interactive experiences | How a learner's answers and completion reach your LMS |
1. Mindstamp
Mindstamp adds questions, buttons, and branching to video you already have. Authors can give feedback after an answer or direct a learner to a review section. This suits an onboarding or procedure video where the learner needs to make a choice before continuing.
The reporting page describes viewing sessions, answers, scores, clicks, and exports. Review a sample record during your evaluation. Decide how you will identify learners before distribution, and check which fields reach your reporting system.
Mindstamp is not a full LMS. If you need course enrollment and wider learning administration, include your existing LMS in the trial. Review the training workflow and test the exact LMS package and receiving system you will use. Confirm the supported standard and report fields during the trial.
See current Mindstamp pricing for plan features and billing choices. You can start a 14-day trial without a credit card. For a guided check, book a demo and bring your video, LMS name, and required report fields.
2. H5P
H5P Interactive Video supports questions, added information, and jumps based on answers. H5P also covers content types beyond video. It is a useful option when a training team wants several kinds of learning activities within its publishing system.
Separate the two purchase paths. The open-source plugins run in supported systems such as Moodle, WordPress, or Drupal. Your team must account for hosting and maintenance. H5P.com is the paid hosted service.
H5P.com plans include Pro, Premium, and Enterprise. Gradebook scoring, drill-down reports, and resume features depend on an LTI connection; report access also depends on the plan. Use the current calculator with your author and reporting needs. A basic website embed is not proof that named learner results will reach your LMS.
See the Mindstamp and H5P comparison for the publishing and reporting differences to test.
3. PlayPosit by WeVideo
WeVideo's PlayPosit Academy documents interactive lessons, branched learning, and workflows for LMS products including Canvas, Moodle, and Blackboard. These are relevant to teams that assign video as a learning activity.
Check the product and integration included in your proposal. WeVideo documents a migration path from PlayPosit to WeVideo Interactivity and notes that LMS access is available to some users. Confirm your own deployment with the vendor. The PlayPosit comparison gives further context.
4. Panopto
Panopto's interactivity documentation describes quizzes at specific video times, automatic pauses, and results in its analytics dashboard and LMS gradebook. Evaluate it if assessments need to sit within your video library.
Ask the vendor to show the exact records your training manager will receive. A quiz score, a completion record, and the choices through a scenario are different records. Verify each required field rather than assuming that a general analytics feature includes it. Read the Panopto comparison for the wider platform context.
5. Kaltura
Kaltura Interactive Video Paths connects video nodes with hotspots. Viewers choose a path through the connected videos. Authors can arrange nodes, edit connections, and preview the result.
This is relevant for scenario training with separate clips for different decisions. Ask which product and license include the path editor, then demonstrate publishing and reporting in your own environment. Do not infer setup time or total cost from the size of the platform. The Kaltura comparison covers the broader choice.
6. LearnWorlds
LearnWorlds combines courses with an interactive video editor. Its documentation describes video progress, completion, quiz performance, and interaction data. It is relevant when you want to deliver video within a course academy.
The full Interactive Video Editor starts with Learning Center. The current pricing page lists that plan at $299 per month, or $249 per month billed annually. Compare the required video features before using the lowest advertised plan price in your budget. If you already use an LMS, check whether you need a separate academy.
7. Edpuzzle
Edpuzzle documents video lesson creation and learner progress and grading. It offers a way to assign videos and inspect answers in a classroom-style workflow.
For employee training, test how people join, receive assignments, and return for another attempt. Confirm the license and account model for your organization. A classroom workflow can be useful, but it does not by itself prove a fit for your training administration. See the Edpuzzle comparison.
8. Vimeo Interactive Video / Wirewax
Vimeo documents hotspots, overlays, polls, and timed actions. Its plan guide separates those Interactive studio tools from features such as forms and chapters. Interactive studio requires Enterprise.
Ask to test the editor version you will receive. For training, inspect how answers, identity, and completion are reported. Do not treat a clickable overlay as equivalent to a scored assessment. The Vimeo comparison covers its broader video platform.
9. KappaX
The earlier version of this guide included KappaX. We could not verify its current product documentation in this review. We therefore do not assign feature ratings or recommend it over a verified option. If it is on your shortlist, obtain current documentation, pricing, and a working demonstration of your training task before deciding.
10. Dot.vu
Dot.vu's feature catalog describes branching and shoppable video along with tracking and analytics for interactive experiences. It is relevant when training is part of a broader interactive content project.
For a learning use case, ask the vendor to demonstrate learner identity, answer records, and delivery to your LMS. Confirm the authoring work and license needed for your project. See the Dot.vu comparison for the wider product scope.
Test completion, answers, and delivery before buying
Use an existing training video and a real decision from your course. Define the expected result before you build the trial. This makes the comparison useful even when vendors use different terms for the same feature.
- Ask a question at the point where a learner must apply the instruction. Test a correct answer and an incorrect answer.
- Send the incorrect answer to feedback or a review section. Check that the learner can return and finish.
- Leave the video before completion, then reopen it. Check what the learner sees and what the report records.
- Open the learner report. Compare the recorded identity, answer, attempt, score, and completion with what you did.
- Use your intended delivery method: LMS launch, page embed, or shared link. Verify the fields in the receiving system.
- Repeat the learner task on the devices your audience uses. Check captions, keyboard access, and visible question controls.
Record the plan, integrations, and setup work used in each trial. These checks form an evaluation method; they are not results from tests we performed on every product.
Completion shows that a learner met the configured completion rule. It does not, by itself, prove retention or correct work on the job. Use assessment results and a follow-up task to evaluate training effectiveness.
Choose the next step for your training project
If your need is questions and choices inside existing video, try the Mindstamp branching example and read the question setup options. If your main need is a course academy, a central video library, or varied LMS activities, start with the corresponding tools in this guide.
Request a training demo with your source video, learner access method, and required report fields. Use the demo to confirm fit before selecting a plan.
