How do I embed a Mindstamp video in 360Learning?
Short answer
Publish the Mindstamp video and copy its Basic iframe code. In the 360Learning course editor, select Add activity, then Add a document, open the Import tab, choose Paste an embed code, and paste the code.
How to do it
Copy link to How to do it- In Mindstamp, publish the video from its Share page if it is not published yet.
- Under Embed, choose Basic iframe and select Copy embed code.
- In 360Learning, open the course in the course editor and select Add activity.
- Select Add a document, then open the Import tab.
- Choose Paste an embed code and paste the code.
- Preview the course as a learner on a computer and in the 360Learning mobile app. Play the video to the end and use each interaction.
Use the Basic iframe code
Copy link to Use the Basic iframe codePaste an embed code accepts code inside iframe or embed tags. The Mindstamp Responsive and Popout codes use a script, so they do not fit. Paste a web link names public YouTube, Vimeo, and Dailymotion links. It does not name Mindstamp.
Keep each video under 15 minutes
Copy link to Keep each video under 15 minutes360Learning suspends embedded documents after a period of inactivity and recommends documents under 15 minutes. A learner who leaves a long video paused can lose the session. Split long training into shorter videos, or tell learners before they start.
Test the SCORM package before rollout
Copy link to Test the SCORM package before rollout360Learning says connected packages, which load content from another server, are not supported, and their exit button may not close the course. The Mindstamp package loads the hosted video, so run one test first. The import also makes the package the whole course, with no other activities.
- On the Mindstamp Share page, under Export, select Download SCORM package. This needs a Core plan or higher. Choose any version and a Completion Checkpoint of 10, 25, 50, 75, 90, 95 or 100 percent. 360Learning lists SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 2nd to 4th editions.
- In 360Learning, create a course by importing an eLearning file, and choose the ZIP file.
- Run the course as a test learner. Check the completion, the score, and the exit button. If one fails, use the embed.
Domain limits in the 360Learning app
Copy link to Domain limits in the 360Learning app360Learning says its mobile app sends no referring domain, so domain limits on Vimeo videos fail there. When no address arrives, Mindstamp lets the video load. In the app, Allowed embed domains neither blocks nor protects the video.
If your account restricts embed domains
Copy link to If your account restricts embed domainsIf you set Allowed embed domains in Mindstamp, add your 360Learning platform domain to the list. Otherwise learners see “Video not available: Code 617”. See restrict embed domains.
Know which learner watched
Copy link to Know which learner watchedThe embed does not receive the learner’s 360Learning account. To see names in Mindstamp reports, add lead capture to the video so learners enter their name and email. A SCORM package passes the name and ID from the LMS instead.
