How do I add a clickable hotspot to my video?
Short answer
Pause on the frame where the object appears, click Hotspot in the interaction bar, drag the hotspot over the object, and set its Show and Hide times. A new hotspot uses Open Link as its click action, so add a link or choose a different action, then save and test it.
How to do it
Copy link to How to do it- Select Interactions in the video menu and move the playhead to the first frame where the object is visible.
- Click Hotspot in the interaction bar.
- Drag the hotspot over the object. Make it large enough to tap on a phone.
- Under Timing, set Hide to the moment the object moves away or leaves the frame.
- Under Content, type a Caption that names the object, then choose the Click Action and its value.
- Click Save Hotspot, then test it in Preview and on a phone.

Make it follow a moving object
Copy link to Make it follow a moving objectIf the object moves, open Styling and click Track motion under Tracking. The hotspot then follows the object, and you can edit or remove the tracking later. Tracking needs a hotspot that shows for at least 3 seconds and does not pause the video. It is not available for YouTube videos.
Without tracking, use several short hotspots when the shot changes, instead of one long one that drifts off the object.
Help viewers find it
Copy link to Help viewers find itA new hotspot shows an indicator ring, its caption, and a background when a viewer points at it. Keep Show Indicator on when the object does not look clickable by itself. You can also add an Effect such as Pulse or Glow (Core and higher plans). Do not make a hotspot that viewers cannot see the only way to continue.
Accessibility
Copy link to AccessibilityViewers can reach a hotspot with the keyboard. Screen readers announce its caption, its position, and its action, so write a caption that names the object, such as “Blue running shoe”, even if you turn Show Caption off.
Pause or require the click
Copy link to Pause or require the clickHotspots have the same Pause options as buttons. Use At hide time (Require Click) when viewers must find the object before the video continues. See how to require a click.
Keep your click data clean
Copy link to Keep your click data clean- Do not let hotspots overlap each other or the player controls.
- A smaller, deliberate target gives cleaner reports than a hotspot that covers the full frame.
- Test the share link in a private browser window, then check the click under Reporting.
